IDC Herzliya

Individual Research Cooperation between Information Systems and IDC Herzliya, Israel

Since 2012, Prof. Peter Buxmann (CYSEC PI and Head of the Information Systems Group) and his team have worked together intensively with the Adelson School of Entrepreneurship at the Interdisciplinary Center (IDC) Herzliya, Israel. In cooperation with the Zell Entrepreneurship Program, the IDC offers a one year program which teaches students how to found a startup company. As startups are typically driven by innovative technologies, the program provides theoretical and practical information regarding relevant aspects of IT security and privacy in relation to business. As a part of the cooperation, Dr. Yossi Maaravi, one of the leading mentors and lecturers of the IDC, supervises the course „Creating a Web Startup“ at TU Darmstadt. Once a year, he shares his experiences with the Zell Program and supports students in developing promising business ideas. Consequently, students can benefit from this international exchange and begin to transform their theoretical knowledge into marketable products and services – with a focus on the areas of IT security and privacy.
