Individual Research Cooperation between Prof. Joachim Vogt, SECUSO and University of Glasgow, Great Britain

Since 1990, Prof. Joachim Vogt (CYSEC PI and Head of the Work and Engineering Psychology Group ArbIng) has maintained a close working relationship with Dr. John Wallace Hinton, University of Glasgow, Great Britain. The cooperation began with studies of ambulatory stress in stock brokers and facilitated psychophysiological monitoring as a means of detecting stress due to, for example, safety and security issues in electronic banking.

The Darmstadt-Glasgow connection was further developed by Prof. Melanie Volkamer (CYSEC PI and Head of the Security, Usability and Society Group SECUSO) and her team, who established a close cooperation with the Glasgow University Information Security Research Group. The team lead, Dr. Karen Renaud, was a KIVA (Competence Development through Interdisciplinary Cooperation from the very outset) guest professor in the summer terms 2013, 2014, and 2015. She holds block lectures on topics such as “Human-Centered Security”. The most recent Glaswegian visitor was Joseph Maguire in 2016, who presented the “State of Alternative Authentication Research in Scotland”.
