Abstract
Current modeling languages for the architecture of software systems (like UML) cannot cope well with a new set of challenges posed by the ever increasing use of open source in products and projects. In this talk, Prof. Dr. Dirk Riehle will discuss the complexity of the open source supply chain and the challenge it poses for license compliance.

He will touch on similar challenges for system security. It will become clear that these challenges are critical to address for software architects, yet they cannot be expressed well nor solved with today’s modeling languages.

QoSec Mission (Software Quality) This talk would discuss some new challenges by the ever increasing use of open source in products and projects. Particularly, the complexity of open source supply chain is briefly discussed along with implications towards system security. (Refer abstract for more information).
