CROSSING-PI Prof. Ahmad-Reza Sadeghi in various Security Sessions at DAC
Design Automation Conference (DAC) in San Francisco from June 24 to 28
11.07.2018
The Collaborative Research Center CROSSING sponsored the Hack@DAC 2018 Hardware Security Contest co-organized by Prof. Ahmad-Reza Sadeghi.

Hack@DAC is a hardware-security competition for students and industry experts. This year’s competition focused on the trustworthiness of System-on-Chips (SoCs). Sadeghi and his team also organized and participated in several workshops.
- Prof. Sadeghi co-organized the Hack@DAC 2018 Hardware Security Contest and the corresponding sessions
- which presented a set of novel approaches for discovering security vulnerabilities in SoC designs „Techniques for Finding Security Vulnerabilities in an SoC“
- where he – together with researchers Markus Miettinen and Richard Mitev – presented the hacking session on fitness trackers „Hack Me If You Can: Hands-on IoT Hacking“
- Shaza Zeitouni presented the paper „It’s Hammer Time: How to Attack (Rowhammer-Based) DRAM-PUFs“ (by Shaza Zeitouni, David Gens, Ahmad-Reza Sadeghi) in the session „From Droplets to Bits: Security for the Physical World“
- Markus Miettinen presented the paper „Revisiting Context-Based Authentication in IoT“ (by Markus Miettinen, Thien Duc Nguyen, N. Asokan, Ahmad-Reza Sadeghi) in the session „The Internet of Threats“
- Prof. Sadeghi co-organized the session and co-authored the paper „Reconciling Remote Attestation and Safety-Critical Operation of Simple IoT Devices“ presented by Gene Tsudik „Security for IoT Worlds: Internet of Things or Internet of Threats“
The Design Automation Conference (DAC) took place in San Francisco, California, US from June 24 to 28, 2018.
